Whoops. Just spent over NZ$100 on Keys from the Golden Vault, getting both the physical book and the Roll20 version. I hope it measures up to the blurb. I'm also hoping that I can easily covert it to Eberron as I've got a bunch of good NPCs in Sharn from a previous campaign that would fit nicely in a heist campaign.

I sense my second Sharn campaign coming.

#dnd #dungeonsanddragon my players think I'm actively trying to PTK them every session. In reality I haven't DMd since college and I'm a bit rusty. They do the opposite of everything I plan the story is totally off the rails and everyone has been on the brink of death but everyone seems engaged and having fun so I guess that means it's working.

For the #dungeonsanddragon folks, when you do dungeons what level of weird and wacky do you like?

Romania is a wonderful country, don't let anyone understand me. But... There's always a but. In this case, it's about my hobby dating back to late elementary or high school, namely tabletop RPG. Back then, we didn't call it tabletop RPG, but simply RPG, because computer games of this genre were called cRPG to emphasize the fact that they are derived from the real ones.
In Romania there is no one to play with, no way to play. In Poland there is a small, musty group of players, often divided, because hardly anyone normal wants to be part of the toxic community that has settled on Facebook. Nevertheless, in Romania, RPG players don't even have their thematic groups on FB, not to mention other portals.
As I have been living in București for a long time, it was necessary to organize playing via the Internet.
I don't usually use a smartphone and prefer a decent nokia 6300 with a numeric keypad, but in this case having a camera and a video chat application is invaluable - every week or two we distribute, each person in a different country, an OSR manual, character cards and we can again, like before, to fight as a mighty knight or a tall blacksmith or a village girl with a knife in her boot and her hair in a high ponytail.
We defeat powerful enemies and travel through frozen valleys, fight duels and have fun in inns, washing ourselves in a tub full of water at the end of the day.
Old School Renaissance is exactly what we needed right now. After years of playing big, complicated games like Call of Cthulhu, Monastyr RPG, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay or Numenera, it's time for simple simulacra of the rules of the first and second editions of Dungeons & Dragons. I highly recommend Sword & Wizardry - of course with #DungeonSynth music playing from old boombox.
