I'm single minded these days - or should I say in the flow? Struggling with the art of typography and with fine tuning images. Also, the quirks of my layut softwarw, a steep learning curve.

Hopefully, I'm almost done, just the TOC. And yes, a forewrd. I use to write professionally, but now it is hard to switch from the deep immersion into visual language and thinking to written language.

It feels stupid stupid still trying to bridge the gap - visual and spoken/written language - that has been my main occupation for many years.

Still working on details of manipulated #photos from my #project #Dunkelwald, this was an experiment with heavy vignetting.

I may change the German name of te book into #Grimmwald. A play on grim/Brothers Grimm, as content and imagery of the book deal with the enchanted/fairytale aspects of forests as well as their eerie aspects.

Wir sehen oft den #Wald vor lauter Bäumen nicht. In diesem Projekt geht es um unsere kulturbedingte #Wahrnehmung von Wald in seinen dunklen Aspekten. Düster-romantisch, verwunschen, schauerlich.
Ich nutze Tonwertumkehrungen (Negativ) und -manipulationen, um Assoziationen zu Märchenillustrationen und alten Stichen zu schaffen.

Diese irritierenden Effekte die Formen, Strukturen und Texturen des Waldes, die der "normale", hastige Blick schnell übersieht.

Work on the #Photobook #Project #Darkforest

We often do not see the #forest for the trees.
This project is about our culturally conditioned #Perceptionof forest in its dark aspects, gothic, enchanted, eerie.

I use tonal inversions (negatives) and manipulations to create associations with fairy tale illustrations and old engravings.

These irritating effects emphasize the shapes, structures and textures of the forest that the "normal", hurried gaze makes us overlook.

Visuell abstrahiere ich die Fotos durch Tonwert-Umkehrungen,. Gleichzeitig wird die düstere #Romantik alter Stiche, Märchen und Romane heraufbeschworen, die unsere Vorstellung von Wald immer noch beeinflusst.
