Two lines of #RoyalNavy sailors provided a guard of honour for 102-year-old Lawrence #Churcher during a service in #Portchester, #Hampshire

Mr Churcher, who was born in #Portsmouth and died at a care home in #Fareham, landed in #France in May 1940, returning on a ship carrying rescued soldiers

He was awarded the Legion d'Honneur for his bravery - the HIGHEST order of merit in #France

So far this week I have watched a few movies that everyone loved, but I was lukewarm (at best) towards at the time.

#Dunkirk - significantly better than the British Army propaganda tosh I took it for on my first watch. "I'm staying...for the French" still made me cringe.

#Interstellar - A really well-made science fiction movie ruined by a fair bit of silliness in the third act (and some odd decision-making by the film's scientists)

I finally saw Dunkirk. I thought Christian Bale did a great job until the credits and then noted it was Cillian Murphy that did a great job. I really need to see those two in a movie together ... maybe then I'll be able to better tell them apart.
