Another visit to Bowling Green Marsh, #Exeter, #Devon over high tide and the mud was full of #Redshank, #Dunlin, #Godwit (mostly Black-tailed but a couple of Bar-tailed for good measure), #Curlew, #Whimbrel #Ruff, #Knot and three Kingfisher. The evening sun made for good light along with a pleasant group of people in the hide.

Moin, #Goldenplover and #Dunlin are almost extincted in Germany, so we can see them only during #birdmigration or as winter guests.
At this time of the year they still have some rest of their summer plumage.
Sorry for bad pictures, I haven't had my birding equipment around during family holiday.

Moin 😊 #Dunlin are back from their breeding grounds. They still have their fancy black bellies. There were common ringed plover too at this spot.
A little further terns were hunting, couldn't see, if these were arctic or common #tern.
Too sad, I don't have my #birding equipment around, only the binoculars, so the picture is just showing the location.

In fact, today was the first time this summer that I've seen so many waders on the reserve. A sign, perhaps, that the season is turning already. Alongside the Knot, you can see #Curlew, #Redshank and #Dunlin

A very peaceful three hours at Bowling Green Marsh this morning. It was teeming with birds including #Avocet, #Dunlin, #Curlew, Black-tailed Godwit, #Redshank, #Snipe (11), Spotted Redshank (1), Bar-tailed Godwit (1), #Greenshank (1); #Pochard, #Wigeon, #Pintail, #Mallard, #Shoveler, #Shelduck, Tufted Duck as well as some pleasant company and a flask of tea.
