best welcoming committee ever - & the first hooded crow i've ever seen (instant crush!) - to our campsite (last week at #dunvegan) on the isle of skye. at one point, this cheeky one had four almonds in beak. #birds #birdwatching #crow #skye #scotland #hoodedCrow #cawmunity

Cycling around #Skye - handlebar footage of roads from Broadford to Kilchrist, #Sligachan, down past the Fairy pools to #Glenbrittle - there's some complex 'passing places' choreography somewhat captured here. Then to #Dunvegan castle & onto #Portree

Sunshine through the trees. This on the walk up the main road to the Castle. Summer is here.
Not Table Mountain but the Cuillins disappearing into the clouds. The village of Dunvegan in the foreground.

“Healabhal Mhòr is a hill in the north of the Isle of Skye, Scotland. It is also known as MacLeod's Table North, as it lies close the fellow flat-topped hill of Healabhal Bheag, or MacLeod's Table South.”
Here they are looking from the Duirinish Stone above Loch Dunvegan. These are the ‘Hills of Home’ to me now. This taken on Christmas Day. A fine day.
The clouds were ‘scudding’ the sun determined. The landscape subdued.
Another fine place for a gentle weekend walk, the impressive 5 metre-high Duirinish standing stone overlooking Dunvegan... It's not as old as it may seem. Well, the rock itself is 🙂... But it's not been in place as long as long as you might imagine.

There are very few gardens on the #isleofskye that are open to the public. The one at #dunvegancastle is spectacular. Several #waterfalls feed the #pools and #streams that run down to the sea. The range of #plants is wide and all are labelled. It’s not difficult to make a #composition like this where the greenery part frames the view of the water. Some palest pink #Rhododendron carefully tended is in the foreground. #peace #tranquility and #joy abound. #Dunvegan #garden #skye

Brodie is two years old today. Our #christmasdaywalk was ‘The Two Churches’ at #Dunvegan which features on the @walkhighlands website in the #isleofskye section. There was #sunshine, there were big beautiful #skies #forest and #moorlands. #photographs of those later but for now a #labradorretriever with a gold bow tie on the path. #dogsofmastodon #happyholidays #merrychristmas
