After some research I ended up with #Duplicacy.
It's CLI Version for common OSes is open source.
In addition, there are paid GUI versions for Mac and Windows and a Web-UI for containers or the like.
It features snapshots, deduplication, encryption and seems very robust as it doesn't rely on databases. There are all sorts of cloud connectors available.
@hmiron @fennix the #lackrack looks cool... but did I read correctly that you wood screw the racks directly into the table legs? Why not wood screw a bracket so you can get the modularity of a real rack?
Personally I've got a #k3s cluster at home with various media managers, #plex, #nextcloud, #photoprism, #collabora , and #duplicacy to back up my 16TB. Tons of fun.

Small update after last week's #Synology shenanigans; With Wyseguy now running #Fedora #Linux server, I've been moving #containers away from the Synology to reduce its responsibilities to be as close to just running hard drives as I can make it, "porting" them over to run on #Podman in the process.
I'm planning on moving #Duplicacy (what I use for cloud backups) off too, but the last remaining will stay on here for now, until I am ready to build a new NAS.
