Today's second utility ride was a 12 in round trip to the recycling centre with a heavy trailer loaded with the remains of a useless decorative plant. We now have a bit more space in our front garden for the far more useful apple to expand into.
Three speed hub gears are a fabulous invention for utility cycling.

Today's parcel run. I again had lots of odd shaped parcels so took them in a trailer.

And this time the photo is from the edge of Assen's city centre. The street from here on has restricted access. It's a pedestrian area where cycling is permitted, but we are supposed to look out for pedestrians.

No cars.

Deliveries to shops can be only made in the morning.

Drivers who ignore the restriction are photographed and fined.

I took a slight detour through a park to cycle in the shadow of some trees, but on the way I spotted these pigs who preferred to bath in the sun.
Anyway, today ten customers were sent email notifications and they'll receive their bike parts in a few days.

I should add that by #cycling I mean trundling about on a step-through-frame #DutchBike (i.e. a modern #EnglishRoadster) with drum brakes and hub gears, while wearing normal clothes, as a day to day mode of transport. Not zooming about in lycra terrorising the countryside on some drop handlebar torture machine as a hobby/sport.
