@shauna @KevinCarson1 last summer I was obsessed w/studying the #DutchEastIndiaCompany, how it invented, & mastered the art of state/corporate violence, crushed the Portuguese & inspired the Brits. Then I thought about the Narco biz, particularly as it’s portrayed on #TheWire (which, is spot on-I’ve worked to rebuild #Baltimore for 20 years now & in the #Annapolis lobbying biz before that), & thought, oh, same kinda capitalism. But we celebrate 1 & otherwise the other.
