Comic books are my happy place to collect #DutchIJ's. This edition of 'Ouwe Niek & Zwartbaard - De Muiters van de Blijdschap' (Old Nick and Blackbeard) has different designs depending on each characters speech bubble (portraying voice & dialect nuances) 🗨 🗯 Let me show some:

Note that the alphabetic position of the /IJ in this publication is not fixed and varies between plates. Sometimes it combines the slots of /I + /J, whereas in others it's positioned between /X and /Z. #DutchIJ

Starting with Lettervormen: Leiddraad voor duidelijke en aesthetische toepassing van letters, samengesteld door J. Mammen (circa 1925). A map containing stunning plates, presenting old and new letterforms in both block and script letters. Several of these include #DutchIJ's.

Last year I was fortunate to find several sought after publications, mostly lettering manuals from the 20's and 30's which display many beautiful #DutchIJ samples, which I'll prioritise posting the coming period.
