Does it happen when notaries or senators are on strike? Or rather when plumbers, bakers or when dock workers don’t show up for work?

Yes indeed, the nation is paralysed when roofing workers are recovering from a hangover.

When all shopkeepers refuse to open their doors, when all childminders themselves start wearing nappies, when cooks no longer cook at Nam Fong’s takeaway, Mister Spaghetti or boarding schools.

And who is the smartest cookie? The one who knows where the Aconcagua stream lies (a question asked in ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’) or the one who is able to draw and implement an electrical flow chart for the school kitchen, Carnegie Hall or the entire White House?
