@elly Unfortunately the only #DVCS that did metadata properly (#Fossil) decided it wanted to go all-in on cathedral and no one else even tried (some tried to patch it on top of #git, like #GitBug but that never got popular) so... we're stuck with that.

Everything else fails by requiring unnecessary centralization.

What are some good examples of novel #ActivityPub applications / experiments? Doesn't need to be operational, or even complete, just cool little implementations of the protocol.

Any attempts at #git (or other #dvcs) integration? Distributed #games?

@imrehg so with #sapling, I'm hoping a new age of developers get to taste what better UX can bring to productivity.

Even better if it brings competition back to the #DVCS world again.

#fossil, #mercurial, #darc, #pijul would all benefit with #git having to fight again.

Am I right about this?:

In describing distributed version control systems (#dvcs), most people would talk about the obvious, which is the ability to roll back and branch etc..

But the main use of dvcs are storage and distribution. I use #GIT so I can upload code to repositories, and I use repositories to keep multiple projects updated. I use them for backups. And I use them to share my code (though nobody is interested my code as of yet)
