A6. Yeah, lots of good books (but no "great" books). The most compelling of all of them is the amateur radio in Vincent Bugliosi's #crime thriller "And The Sea Will Tell", which is a crazy story of the island of Palmyra, a murderer, and a #hamradio #DXpedition. (true story). The trial rested in some part on the testimony based on ham radio conversations...

I am not an active ham (KB0ZMS), but I am frustrated by the DQRM directed at the Bouvet Island DXpedition (3Y0J). I just cannot wrap my head around what anyone gains from blocking others from gaining a rare one, plus all the mean-spirited griping and general nastiness. People can be so disappointing.

The Radio Amateur's Code starts with “never knowingly operates in such a way as to lessen the pleasure of others.”

This morning I gave a semi-scientific presentation about radiowaves, ionosphere and RF propagation then took an exit to drive down #hamradio lane. The final frontier!

Target audience: the more clever 16-17 y/o students in my school.

15m was a gong show complete with self-appointed FT8 cops & I couldn't hear 3Y0J at all.

EU commuters are home from work and need to vent their frustration on 40CW while your's truly tries to work #tn8k on 7025kHz.
I think I got 'm but the op logged oK5m and +not+ oQ5m. Couldn't really copy through the mess.
If it weren't for #clublog live stream, I wouldn't have known.
This is why I lost interest in #dxpedition -> too many lids in action.
Took me half an hour for a 2nd qso. Meanwhile I worked some #wrtc2022 award stations.

I worked #TN8K on 12CW by accident. Long story, will share later. No amp but broken paddle (little did I know). Used PC keyboard to send CW.
Then two minutes later on 17CW, still only DAH, no DIT.
Fixed paddles. No clue what was wrong though.
Then 10CW and 15CW with amp on and fully functioning dits 'n dahs.
Four TN8K contacts with zero effort.
Also fixed stealthy RX loops. So stealthy they get wrecked by my 60kg reckless dog. Not wreckless!
