And I still have to read newly bought Stanislaw Lem’s novels and Stephen King’s Fairy Tale.

#Fantasy / #ScienceFiction recommendation request

Having recently discovered the #DyingEarth sub-genre, I need more - strange evolution, remnants of past civilizations, dying worlds at the end of time, and a sense of melancholy and fatalism throughout.

Assume I have a handle on the classics; tell me about today's must-read authors or #books. My preferences lean towards #ScienceFantasy (think Vance, Harrison, Cherryh), but I'm not opposed to hard #SciFi.
