Better, human-friendly software interfaces
Our current software interfaces are usually crappy and are probably a dead-end ij the very long term. I’m very interested in approaches that involve computation in the “real world”, such as the #dynamicland system being developed by Bret Victor, and _perhaps_ #augmentedreality stuff (which has a long way to go)
- I’m currently setting up the #paperprograms project in my current apartment and could post updates here. (Pic is from a prior setup)

Found out about #DynamicLand today: https://dynamicland.org
I want more stuff like this that gives us more power and freedom over our computing. Making it more physical sounds really nice as well, at least for some uses, especially when creating something.
I have my #Emacs, but that requires a lot of expertise. The world deserves more #EndUserProgramming: https://www.inkandswitch.com/end-user-programming/
It's also the natural next step for #FreeSoftware after licensing.

The thing with tech like #dynamicland is the killer user case always comes from unitended consequences, so now it's difficult to predict it's potential.

Saw a link in our work slack to a new Bret Victor's talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gXiVOmaVSo (his part starts at ~14:30, but it can be helpful to watch/skim the first half for some of the context).
It is about their #Dynamicland, and once again, I'm both annoyed and hopeful.
#dynamicland being used for prototyping a molecular lab environment. Demo is given by Bret Victor in the second part of the presentation.
