After thinking about it for a while I concluded that end-to-end encryption is properly implemented only if these two conditions are met:

1. #FOSS client: the user must be able and legally entitled to build the client from source code;
2. #ReproducibleBuilds: being able to check the distributed package matches the one manually built because it is not feasible nor efficient to build make everyone builds every new release from source.

Bonus: RB provided by a downstream org.

But, nobody can see the source code to vet that #e2eencryption has been properly implemented because it's proprietary code. If Meta / Facebook claims to have e2e encryption, that claim is unverifiable. It relies on trust. Security should never rely on trust. Do you really trust Meat / Facebook to not have a backdoor, coming from a company that has been at the centre of malicious user data practices?

So ganz gegen #cloud bin ich nicht, wenngleich ich das im Moment nur mit einzelnen, besonders kritischen Files mache.
Wichtig ist eben #e2eencryption, wo ich im Moment noch keine geeignete sichere und datenvolumensparsame Lösung gefunden habe.
Aber es ist halt von Vorteil, dass daa Backup heile bleibt, wenn die Wohnung abbrennt.

Die #foss Notiz-App Joplin wird oft im Zusammenhang mit #nextcloud -Syncronisation genannt. Dabei kann Joplin mit vielen Remotezielen syncen (z.B. per WebDAV), auch mit #e2eencryption .

Nutzbar auf Desktop und mobil. Selbst eine separate #cli Instanz ist dabei, um Joplin direkt im Terminal zu verwenden.

Für mich bleiben keine Wünsche offen.

dann erwarte ich auch die Fähigkeit von Sicherheitsbehörden bei begründetem Verdacht ermitteln zu können, was ich jemandem im Bad (verschlossen) ins Ohr säusel (hinter der Hand!).
