It seems there was a "preliminary" agreement between European Parliament and EU Council on police cross-border acccess to electronic evidence #eEvidence tonight. I don't follow the file anymore, so don't ask me about details. But this is part of a longer trend to improve and ease cross-border access to information for police and judicial authorities across the EU and even with third countries, without enhancing the procedural safeguards and rights of suspects as well.
