Heute haben wir eine neue #Earthdawn-Runde angefangen. Ich spiele endlich mal wieder. Und zwar eine T'skrang-Hochstaplerin (Diebin). Und sie wollte doch nur eine reiche, mit Sklaven handelnde theranische Adelsfamilie um Geld erleichtern, wurde aber mit den anderen SC in einem chaotischen Sklavenaufstand gefasst und auf eine berüchtigte Horror-Insel verbannt. Mal sehen, was da drauß wird. 😬 #PnP #RPG

- The Campaign for #Earthdawn was a huge fun and a campaign I did as a player and GM. It is world shaking and not totally foreseeable. Its episodes allow for different adventure styles. Investigation, small and epic battles as well as diplomacy.

Die Hochzeit in Eidalon endete in einem Desaster. Um das Dorf zu schützen, waren Bea, ChaCha und Malik vor den Befestigungen, um die nahenden Feinde zurück zu drängen. Von ChaCha hinterrücks angegriffen verlor Bea ein paar Finger - und den Ring. Nachdem die Verbindung zu dem gemeinsamen Artefakt abgebrochen war, stand für Akun fest, dass Bea gestorben sein musste und er ...

Musste darüber jetzt nochmal nachdenken, aber meine SC sind in Fantasy-RPGs tatsächlich noch nie gestorben oder in-game ausgeschieden. Stattdessen sind die Runden eingeschlafen (manchmal nach nur einer einzigen Sitzung) oder zerbrochen. Ob #DSA4, #MERS, #Rolemaster, #Earthdawn, #DnD3, #DnD5, oder #Dungeonslayers. Immer das Gleiche. Im Fall von #Pathfinder2 läuft die Runde noch, da heißt es abwarten, aber #NivVanDerZee ist aktuell kein heißer Kanditat für vorzeitiges Ableben. AC und HP sei Dank.

@BrianBloodaxe hell yeah! We were more like #Adnd kids in the 90s, but I vividly remember playing a few sessions of 1st ed (?) #Earthdawn back then 🤩 I remember that the world building was impressive. I mean, this whole postapokalyptic vibe of crawling from these „bunker“ dungeons to rediscover an utterly changed world. Liked that the powers of magic items subsequently unlocked, and the setting’s focus on sense of wonder/exploration. System was pretty clunky though

"Smartest RPG you have played"

Puh, was ist schon "smart"? #Earthdawn vielleicht, weil ich die Rolle von wahren Namen in dem (Magie-)System dieses Spiels sehr intelligent gemacht fand? Oder #TheEndOfTheWorld, weil sich das System durch die schlaue Startmechanik sparen konnte, eine eigene Hintergrundwelt aufbauen zu müssen? #CallOfCthulhu, weil sich in einem %-System wirklich jeder schnell zurecht findet? auf jeden Fall #LadyBlackbird, weils super intuitiv zugänglich war.

Pardon, how do I measure "smart(est)" #ttrpg? In my opinion, smart solutions depend at least on interests/preferences/requirements and constraints.

#DustDevils uses a #Poker-based engine with smart storytelling twists. The #Preparedness mechanic of #NightsblackAgents is very smart.
The setting and integration of rules of #Earthdawn is smart, if #DnD is a (p)reference. I think the #usagedie concept of some #OSR games is smart etc. etc.

Teil 1: #Earthdawn
Hab damals nur einmal in einer ED-Runde mitgespielt, aber mich sofort in die Welt verliebt. Hab dann die Bücher gesammelt, da sich keine Gelegenheit mehr zum Spielen ergab. Inzwischen haben die Bände ein neues Zuhause gefunden.

Teil 2: #PirateBorg
Auf meiner suche nach Piraten-RPGs das erste, auf das meine Aufmerksamkeit gelenkt wurde. Finde die Aufmachung großartig. Habs aber immer noch nicht gespielt.

Mein allererstes RPG war #Earthdawn auf der #RatCon 2005 (oder war es doch 2004?). Ich hatte in diesem Jahr in den Sommerferien ein Praktikum bei Fanpro gemacht und bekam die Karten geschenkt. Hat dann noch bis 2007 gedauert bis ich regelmäßig mit Rollenspiel angefangen habe, da aber erst nur live und zwar #vampirethemasquerade

@losthavenart most recently I had the earthdawn game masters guide bookmarked multiple times, and it was on the poison section and the particular trap I was modifying because I had to go back and forth and put it down to add info to the vtt entry I was adding. So basically the sections I was referencing during my session prep.

Just ran a pretty successful #earthdawn 4e session on #foundryvtt. The adepts made it halfway through their infected kaer looking for their scourge clock, when one of them set off a trap, got caught, harried and then hit by a ghoul and poisoned, getting killed in 2 rounds basically, from letting their guard down for a moment... man exploding dice are rough sometimes. #earhdawn4e #vtt #ttrpg
