All tsunami-alerting quakes should now get cross-posted. Most locals get the local hashtag, non-locals get the #EarthquakeMastodon hashtag.
California events are trickier. They come in three flavors in the source data, and just one without a comma.
I like my current code, as ", [state]" data can be parsed out without the extra hoops, e.g. I could do a Hawaii bot in moments. But some "x km from y" alerts get second-class treatment. Boo!

A play in three acts. There are (at least) two bugs in the quake bots, one I knew about one I didn't. First, the plan:
- In-region quakes get their own localized hashtag and time.
- Any quake that generates a tsunami alert gets cross-posted with the #EarthquakeMastodon hashtag and time stays in UTC.
Reality:
- In-region, tsunami-alerting quakes don't get cross-posted.
- When California is spelled out in the data, it's getting treated as non-local.
Time to get the big hammer.
