#FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (#FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (#EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (#WEA) this fall for Oct. 4, 2023.

Watching the posts over on Twitter about the Florida alert test this morning is interesting. You have the people that say they’ve never heard the EBS/EAS used and so it should be dismantled. You have the people stating that they’ve had alerts for local emergencies and it is useful.
