From a practical point of veiw, these have particulary heavy bottoms – presumably to stop them tipping over when we go round bends.

Having said that, these trains aren’t pendelinos – they don’t need to be as, prior to privetisation, much of the #EastcoastMainline was upgraded and curves were banked, so titling is unnecessary.

This is very much an atmosphere shot, composed #contrajour as the sun was close to setting and the train approached from the south.

As the British #rail network continues to crumble and pulverise into bits, faults with the signalling system on the #EastCoastMainLine almost seem to be more frequent than every other day by now. Gonna go out on a limb and say something seriously and urgently needs to be done about the infrastructure.
