This is the Finlays kiosk from East Ham station - fairly local to me - but this will ooze nostalgia for generations of Londoners. they were so much part of daily life that I probably never noticed the elegant #artdeco lines of its design.

More info tonight on those pilot #whales that stranded in #Eastham:

- IFAW says 4 of the 5 whales re-stranded last night after they were re-floated
- Team decided to euthanize all 4 as they had "greatly declined in health and... debilitated"; likely wouldn't survive new rescue efforts
- IFAW says the whales passed quickly and it's "tough on all our responders"
- 5th whale that had stranded "has not yet been located"

UPDATE to this story out of #Eastham, #CapeCod tonight: IFAW says four out of the five stranded pilot#whales turned around and headed back toward shore after they were refloated. Rescue crews are going to try and get them back out to sea tomorrow.

I'm on a #WhaleWatch today, kind of - we're keeping an eye on a developing story on #CapeCod, in #Eastham. That's where five pilot whales stranded themselves at Sunken Meadow Beach; another whale, a baby, died.

The International Fund for Animal Welfare is on the scene, helping to get these animals back in the water. High tide is in right now, and at last check, the whales were all in the water, but IFAW's working to get them swimming again. 📸: IFAW
