In 1984 komt zijn grootste hit tot dan toe uit #AgainstAllOdds van de gelijknamige film, en wint een Grammy en Academy award voor beste song.
In hetzelfde jaar komt ook #EasyLover uit met #PhilipBailey, produceert en drumt hij voor #EricClapton en zingt en drumt voor #BandAid.
