First batch of Christmas baking complete - free form mince pies, using my mum’s recipe with almond meal & lemon zest in the dough. It’s the first of Advent, so it’s allowed even though it’s not quite December.
When I say complete … we ‘accidentally’ made a double batch of dough & have only cooked about a third of it so far. 36 pies and counting, with more dough & brandied mince in the fridge for tomorrow. There’s some biscuit dough waiting for us as well.
