Update on Pecco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini:
It looks like Bagnaia got away without any injury, despite Brad Binder running over his leg after a highside. He is just badly bruised, but having a CT scan.
Bastianini broke a bone in his left ankle and one in his left hand.
It's funny how some people I used to think had journalistic integrity (see: @denkmit@federated.press) will call one accident a "collision" and another "torpedo'd" ... yet both have riders still out with injuries, and only one received any sort of punishment. But, that entire site is click-bait trash these days, which is sad because I used to happily pay to read it. Also pretty telling when a team doesn't even want anyone from that site at their launch!
Ducati now officially confirming Michele Pirro will race in place of Enea Bastianini at COTA
And now it seems that Bastianini definitely won't be racing in Austin. But I'll wait for the press release to be 100% certain.
Marc Marquez out for Austin, reports that Enea Bastianini will fly to Austin and attempt to ride.
