I took a small reference video, and hand drawn some new characters on top of just 8 frames.
I used Blender to chroma key and compose the scene, using Grease Pencil to add a couple of lines.
Same workflow for the background, with a simple 3d scene and just 1 painted frame. Here you can see the drawings and the original video.
Just a test, far from perfect, but it's a powerful workflow for 2D animations!

To those who don't know it, EbSynth just...revolutionised my ability to create cartoons as a hobby. It does automatic AI rotoscoping. So I could make even very long shots by drawing just a few frames (7 is the most I ever had to draw). For me that was the difference between never having time for a hobby I enjoyed and making real cartoons quite quickly.
Free AI tools which enhance art open so many gates. It's a shame other tools cause such controversy.

Something experimental. This took a bit longer to get out than I wanted to, I started with some trailcam footage of a cardinal and then put a frame through deep dream only to be unsatisfied. I had to change a lot of settings and use 5 frames to get it right, and I probably could have used more.
