Habit (lifestyle normalistaion) and denial.
They think it's hyperbole, they think if it does happen, it wont affect them...and if it gets hotter, they can just use thier AC
They drove to work today, they will drive to work tomorrow. They think about buying an #ecar and assume it will "help", after all they're not "monsters" ;)
They do not think there is some chance of an exestenial risk to human existence, nor a very likely collapse of civisliation.
So, do what you can at a personal level, encourage others, attend climate protest, Vote Green, hope for the best but prepare for the worst becase the future will be radical.

Elementary Education, Joined the Air Force because a low lottery number and college graduation. Selected for pilot training in the early 70's. First posting after that training was to train other AF pilots (5 years). Flew and instructed in the smallest and largest AF aircraft, T-37 and C-5. After AF retirement I took a job as a simulator and academics for the AF as a contractor for another 24plus years. #Ecar
