…and just before we left, we luckily remembered to take another group picture! So this is the Hohenheim #ecoevo modelling group after an inspiring week at #ECEM23 in Leipzig!
Now we’re heading home, a bit tired, but our heads are full of new ideas… 🤩

First time ever at a #ECEM for me 🎉
If you are interested in - How to Include Temperature in Ecological Risk Assessment - come see my talk at 11.10 h in Hall 1 CD 👀
My #ECEM23 talk is today (Sep 5th) at 11:30 AM in Hall 1 B.
"Exploring spatial autocorrelation and variable importance in machine learning models using
patternograms"
#ecem23 #rspatial #spatialml #spatialautocorrelation
Now that was a successful conference start in Leipzig!
When I submitted my proposal for a session on feedback loops, I was hoping for maybe 2 or 3 submissions in addition to the talks from my own group. But now we have 14 contributions! Enough to fill a whole day! So we will actually have 3 sessions, not just one, on Thursday in Saal 1B. Come join us! #ECEM23.
Oh, how nice! 😊
Just in time for #ECEM23 we got the good news that our latest paper on eco-evo feedback in plant-pollinator systems got accepted at Evolutionary Ecology! (Yes, yes, I know, we still have to fix some very minor details, but who wants to hear that, it’s basically good to be published, so hooray! 🥳)
Wanna know more? Then come to Avril‘s talk on Thursday in our feedback loop session (S23)! Or check out the preprint:
Nothing prepared me for the bittersweet mixed feelings when you leave for a conference, finally, after such a long time, but your little one wants you to stay at home… Nothing. #Momademia.
Anyways, #ECEM23, I’m on my way!!
🚆 This week I am at the #ECEM23 conference in Leipzig, Germany.🚆
Let me know if some of you are also there and want to talk about #rspatial, #geocompx, #openscience, etc.

Autumn had come along today (9°C when I woke up 🥴), so the morning sun and dew made everything nice and sparkly ✨️ on my way through park #sanssouci. Got some good feedback on my presentation for next week #ECEM23 so that can be nice and sparkly ✨️ as well 🙃
Also captured some fresh, lush mosses for #mosstodon, still need to ID, but probably fairly common 🌱
Update: We have a fantastic speaker line-up for my session on #feedback loops at #ECEM23 in Leipzig:

and myself.
I can't wait, this is exciting!!
Update: I’m having so much fun reviewing the abstracts for my session at #ECEM23. So many cool contributions! 🤩 We will talk about #feedback, #TippingPoints, #EcoEvo, #bistability, #coexistence, #PatternFormation etc. This is going to be a awesome!!! 😊
(But also: we received more submissions than slots available and it’s sooo hard to choose!)

Update: The abstract submission for the European Conference on Ecological Modelling (#ECEM23) is open until 1st of April. We hope to see you there so we can discuss about #feedback, #stability, #coexistence, #networks, #ecoevo, etc.!!
The ECEM will take place in Leipzig (Germany) on September 4-8. More info can be found on the conference website:
