The Conversation:" Reducing eco-anxiety is a critical step in achieving any climate action... General anxiety intensifies climate or “eco”-anxiety. This can spur some people to climate action, while for others it can lead to a state of paralysis and inactivity. " theconversation.com/reducing-e

While it’s important to be realistic about the situation, it’s equally important to understand that things are changing in many areas for the better. We need that change to be faster, but also to dispel the notion of that can paralyze us and drove us into

What a delight to talk with Pastor Pihkala. He shares a grounded and centered theology of hope through meaning, and when prompted offers advice to Pastors and parents about how to help parishioners and children alike deal with eco-anxiety, or "climate anxiety."

A good way to fight climate change is sobriety. For example, if most of us delay buying a new phone by one or two years, we reduce the footprint of that industry by 30% (CO2, but also metals – 50 metals in a phone), without lowering comfort. It is not binary: every bit counts

I used to think the top environmental problems were biodiversity loss, ecosystem collapse and climate change . . . I thought that with 30 years of good science we could address those problems. I was wrong. The top environmental problems are selfishness, greed and apathy . . .and to deal with those we need a spiritual and cultural transformation. And we scientists don't know how to do that.

Therapists see surge in eco-anxiety as smoke fills skies.
"The climate crisis is a main talking point in the weekly therapy sessions. The more people experience the crisis first-hand, the more they realize they need to have support to talk about it...The fires have triggered a sense of fear, rage and despair, which is a completely healthy response to what we’re witnessing on Earth.”

Never Forget: They Knew
"As fossil fuel executives join the rest of us currently choking on the ash of old growth forests being consumed in the apocalyptic conflagrations directly linked to their actions, we must never forget: THEY KNEW."

Climate anxiety in children and young people and their beliefs about government responses to climate change: a global survey

"Climate anxiety and eco-anxiety (distress relating to the climate and ecological crises) are gaining attention worldwide as people become increasingly aware of the current and future global threats associated with our warming planet."

"Climate change has important implications for the health and futures of children and young people, yet they have little power to limit its harm, making them vulnerable to climate anxiety."

"Climate anxiety and dissatisfaction with government responses are widespread in children and young people in countries across the world and impact their daily functioning. A perceived failure by governments to respond to the climate crisis is associated with increased distress."

You won't fight without admit it and dare speak about it.
Too many people think that denying a trouble will help avoid the problem.
Let's speak about and speak loud !
Don't wait until you'll make impressive orange pictures in your backyard as New-yorkers do by now !
It is no more time to do as if nothing was happening. It's time to look deep in the tiger's eyes.

People in regions plagued by extreme weather usually experience elevated levels of climate-related fear and sadness (as will those living with the consequences for years to come). Two out of three respondents in a landmark Nature survey (10,000 people, ages 16 to 25, across 10 countries) reported having such experiences.

It's great to see UN Climate Change addressing the impact of climate change on mental health. The indirect effects are often overlooked.

Including more green infrastructure in our urban environments provides co-benefits for mental and physical health and environmental health.

What does good 'feel' like?
Finding time and space to talk about hope.

"‘we often ask - 'what does good look like’ - yet this should be ‘what does good feel like’. We are not passive observers of what good is, but active participants, connected, and therefore something we feel rather than look at. And not something that will happen without our active involvement"

How To Channel Eco-Anxiety - Renée Lertzman

Trying to manage or push away a feeling is an energy drain, right? Alternatively, we can practice bringing an attitude of compassion & appreciation, to environmental & climate distress because it’s a powerful indicator that you’re conscious. Experiencing eco-anxiety means that you’re able to register the signals from the system
