Another #WaterfallWednesday this time at Anna Ruby Falls near Helen, GA. Not to be confused with Ruby Falls, which we will get to eventually.
On the left is Curtis (sometimes referred to as Smith) Creek and on the right is York Creek tumbling over gneiss from the Cowrock terrane to form Smith Creek.

3yr PhD position in #Isotope-based Landscape #Ecohydrology available @LeibnizIGB @HumboldtUni. Project aims at novel integrated, cross-compartmental and cross-scale understanding of water partitioning in agricultural systems. Start May 2023. Check out https://www.igb-berlin.de/en/jobs
Excited to share our latest academic research on hillslope ecohydrology. Rachel initially presented this at the #IAHR Young Professionals Congress 2023. Check out the video presentation to see the findings and implications of microtopographic controls on soil moisture dynamics and vegetation growth. (Rachel's talk starts at 13:49.)

Hi!
We are the Theoretical Ecohydrology Lab at TU Braunschweig. We use theoretical methods—conceptual, mathematical, and numerical models—to study ecohydrological processes in terrestrial systems.
We are currently working on (1) identifying ecohydrological functional units in urban areas, (2) developing the HPC #ecohydrology code SERGHEI, and (3) designing #computational approaches for wildfire modelling.

#PhD opportunity on ecohydrological predictions. Landscapes have many functions that humans depend on. How do they enhance or suppress each other when land use changes and do we properly #model it? Interested in dedicating your PhD to doing things right for the right reasons in coupled #EcoHydrology modeling?

@guddl Thanks ;) and good point! I take it as an inspiration to add some more info a as we go. Here for starters: #EcoHydrology is the science that deals with the interaction between living (ecological) systems and the water cycle. Many of us work specifically "plants" or "vegetation". Plants release water when they open their leafs to take up carbon for photosynthesis - they are a huge "pump" in the water cycle. They also prevent erosion, stabilise slopes and engineer soil properties.
After some weeks of boosting only, here comes an introduction. I came from the bird site and I am almost #newhere .
I am a professor of Terrestrial Ecohydrology at the @unijena , posting interdisciplinary about #EcoHydrology, #RootWaterUptake, #Canopies, #SoilWater and I am excited about optimality. I am human being too, and as such I have opinions about liveable cities, social justice, #climate or #biodiversity, and it will show in my feed.
@Anoxinon, thanks for having me!
