There was a thread by @coolgrey on that other site about rethinking downtown that raised some interesting ideas, including
- dorm/SRO/alternative living as possibly easier to retrofit in office blocks
- City or non-profit acquiring a building or two as test beds, incubators, jumpstarters
- rethinking office use, like moving non-profits in, or maybe art studios
