It's a subtle shift, but I keep working out which economies I want to participate in, and which I want to withdraw from as much as I can. Large corporate entities seem more life draining than life sustaining.

"#Workers in the #US have an estimated $50bn-plus #stolen from them every year, according to the #Economic #Policy #Institute, surpassing all #robberies, #burglaries and motor vehicle #thefts #combined. The majority of these stolen #wages are never recovered by workers.

Between 2017 to 2020, $3.24bn in stolen wages were recovered by the US Department of Labor, state labor departments and attorney generals, and through class- and collective-action litigation.

#Wage theft disproportionately affects lower-wage workers, women, people of color, and immigrant workers, and negatively affects local #economies and #tax #revenues.

There are numerous forms of wage theft, from #employers not #compensating workers for time #worked, #violating minimum #wage and #overtime #laws, misclassifying #employees as independent #contractors, not providing #legally required meal breaks, confiscating worker tips, or illegally taking #deductions from worker wages."

Many humans try not to think about reality. #Religion is one example of how humans delude themselves. #Business & the pursuit of #money is another example of how human society doesn't focus minds on reality. Money doesn't make the world go around.

Those that are more reality based thinkers should now be considering a future where humanity has failed to mitigate human caused #ClimateChange (a plus 1.5 degree future)

We should be considering how to mitigate the collapse of #economies.

#Markets were supposed to be a decentral tool to balance supply and demand. However, the tool is unreliable and mostly conveys irrelevant information like how to make more profit. Let's switch the tool. We have better decentral information processing tools now, which can be used to organize production and distribution and to communicate the actually important aspects of demand and supply like the needs of the people and the #ecological impact of products and services.
