So Andrew Tate wasn’t a thing last time I was in the classroom. I’d seen the odd video on Reddit but nothing more. The Behind the Bastards Podcast episodes about him are eye-opening and a must listen if you are dealing with teenagers/young adults (for he’s very famous on the ticktock). Hoping Irish educators attending #CESI50 share perspectives about the ethical issues surrounding the bird site.

Hundreds of Irish educators helped foster online tea rooms like #edchatie and we enhanced teaching and learning through meaningful online collaboration.

But if Twitter remains a vanity project of a bloke who bans journalists, amplifies enemies of social justice, and disbands structures that enhance trust, educators need to move their edchats elsewhere.

The print edition of Ireland's Education Yearbook will be out in January. It will include a couple of contributions still pending.
