Look what I got in the mail today: a biography of Edgar Rice Burroughs, the man who created Tarzan. It’s a huge book (11.5 x 9 x 2 inches) with over 800 pages of text and illustrations. I’m excited to learn more about his life and writing process. I find biographies of authors inspiring and helpful for my own writing. Do you have a favorite author biography?

So, here's the reveal of Ian Richardson's pencils for a First Men On Mars variant cover. I've already seen his finished inks and colour by Yel Zamor and it's looking gorgeous. Kickstarter coming in April.

Today’s charity shop find. Three 1920 editions from series for £2 each!

Not rare or valuable and I already have the free Gutenberg ebooks, but how amazing is it to sit and read and know that the actual pages you are turning were first turned a century ago by someone enjoying the same story

Oh gosh, it seems Edgar Rice Burroughs was a eugenicist who thought humanity had reached its zenith in the British aristocracy!

I need to finish reading this but the reason for Tarzan's infant survival and mastery of the beasts was because he was a superior being! (Pause for laughter.)

So myths of white supremacy are created and perpetuated.

The Great Re-inventorying Initiative continues into the Js!

First title out of the box is . My grandfather instilled in me a voracious appetite for reading when I was a kid and started me on his old books he had. I then read literally every ERB title and the John Carter series is my favorite. Great example of pulpy books growing up.

Reading this series of took me back.
