Happy Birthday to Greyfriars Bobby, the little dog who captured hearts in 19th century Edinburgh. After his owner's death, Bobby spent 14 years guarding his grave in all weather conditions. Looked after by the curator and fed by locals, he became a symbol of loyalty and devotion. This statue outside Greyfriars Kirkyard honors his memory.

Scottish tenement night latch keys. These odd-looking keys were used to open the latch on the communal close doors in Scottish tenements between the late 1700s and the early 1900s. Some were still in use as recently as the 1980s.
