An Otter swimming in liquid gold. Figgate Pond, Portobello this morning. #Otters #EdinburghWildlife
The Atlantic great cormorant is the largest of all living cormorant species in Europe.
Their plumage is not fully waterproof, allowing them to dive deep, as buoyancy is reduced.
This in return means they can often be seen perching or standing with their wings half open drying them following a period of diving and feeding.

Repost
A curious squirrel on a train track.
Edinburgh is full of hidden gems such as this old train line, which is now only 30m long (including a bridge over Water of #Leith)
It's been taken over by nature and offers a safe haven for squirrels, foxes and local birds.
I consider myself lucky living in a capital with so many magical green spaces.
