I thought I'd mostly use Mastodon's edit feature to fix typos, and I do a lot of that. What I didn't realise is how often I'd make compulsive minor tweaks to posts in order to make them funnier.

Couldn't help but fix a missing period in an old popular toot just now. Hazard of having an edit button.

I think it means the post gets bumped up in the notifications feeds of those who liked/boosted it, which makes me feel guilty.

Prob a deterrent for us shy folk and motivation for attention seekers. :)

Went back to correct a rookie error; added hashtags to a toot.

Love the #EditButton, but love even more that anyone who favorited or boosted the toot gets INFORMED of the editing, so they can re-assess as needed! 😀

Not loving the sidebar with buttons on the web interface after the mastodonapp.uk upgrade to v4.

Is there a configuration setting to get it back to the top where there's more space?
