It is my contention, which I tried to convey in class yesterday, that this moment from Hot Fuzz emphasizes the film’s motif of doubling and repetition with the same sort of density as this e e cummings poem’s emphasis on “one” as a symbol of loneliness.

I've been amusing myself, reading #eecummings aloud to myself lately, and "don't get me wrong oblivion" is hilarious. But my book frustrates me saying that its allusion to a certain myth is obvious and "needs no explanation" – I'm not getting it. Does anyone see it?
