Do you grow asparagus?
I've decided to start some asparagus here from seed. I've got a lot of little plants in pots at the moment waiting to be sexed when the time comes.
I was hoping to plant them out in an asparagus patch but the plot I'd designated got the #Effluenza. So, I'm now thinking about container asparagus until I nut something out. I've got a couple of years to think of something!
Morning all ☕
No perky post yesterday as I was, wait for it, wading in #Effluenza
Again.
This time I had my own little lake. The plumber (his third visit in less than 48 hours) was almost crying on my behalf.
I was taking breaks to check out what everyone was up to. Loved @Snu 's camping adventures and, ahem, I think @Quokka might have a very sore head this morning :blobcat_giggle:
Otherwise, I've decided to create a new hashtag for my (not cat) camping tips.
Morning all ☕
I'm a teensy weensy bit busy at the moment with my #Effluenza. I'm creating an effluent levee. Yes, really!
I had the plumber out twice yesterday with blocked drains/loo and I had to rely on my ninja camping skills and nursing bladder to get me through. We now have a special relationship.
Here's a photo of the River Murray at Hettner Landing, Walker Flat. The Girls and I spent a few glorious weeks there last year. It's about to get flooded.

Yesterday I learned that if you tag Don Melton into anything he'll pop up without warning :blobcat_giggle:
Oh, and if you subsequently follow Don Melton you'll never have to worry about running out of content. Ever. Again. :blobcat_terrified:
I'm spending this morning in the garden trying to get on top of #Effluenza before the next pile of 💩 heads my way. The public housing overlords have suggested a 'mutual exchange' as they are refusing to transfer me.
:blobcat_facepalm:
I see you 👀
Maintenance is an Australia-wide shit show.
#PublicHousing needs a massive injection of cash to properly repair homes. Bandaid solutions are not cost-effective.
A silly number of homes are unoccupied as they are uninhabitable. This is unconscionable.
And, poor maintenance can be only one of the issues a tenant faces. Being bombarded by several issues at once is exhausting.
Tenants are already vulnerable and may have few 'spoons'.
Morning all ☕
Yesterday morning I was shivering in flannelette PJs. This morning I'm racing into the garden to tidy up after the #Effluenza adventure before the sun cranks up.
😮
I've discovered (after seeing my notifications explode overnight) I have a superpower for distilling instance drama into its simplest form. I am blessed (use that Influencer Voice) to be the veteran of some stonking drama years ago in another community. Never thought it'd come in handy.
:blobcat_giggle:
Right side fixed 'for now' (in joke with plumber). Should be okay for 'a couple of years'.
Left side still has mystery blockage and will erupt like Vesuvius at regular intervals.
#Effluenza will remain a thing. A beautiful thing.
:blobcat_giggle:
The Great #Effluenza Saga of 2022 continues
Four lovely blokes, one Monster Truck, one Van, lotsa hoses, a crap-tonne of dirt and...
I am no longer marinading in Eau-de-E-Coli.
For now.
😬
Lovely blokes will be back later this week to do some works and concrete.
Poor bastard neighbour has BMX track for a garden but the street's jobbies are now contained and heading to their place of rest.
👋 💩
#Effluenza update
It's a contagion. A spreading contagion.
The poor bastard's yard looks like some overgrown great Dane has gone to great lengths to find that mouldering corpse buried decades ago.
I've got hoses all over the place and they've started attacking the SA water outlet in my front garden.
They have very graciously kicked in my gate which has been jammed shut for months. Winning!
⚒️ 💩
He's the poor bastard adjacent the outlet.
The outlet has packed up and decided to go home. It's now sinkhole time.
He's got a gopher and access ramp and Christ-only-knows what they're doing to it. I hear thudding. Lots of thudding.
I went out earlier in a mask, heavy duty gloves, rubber thongs and my old camping trousers rolled up for a look.
His are not the jobbies they should be looking for. I suspect the jobbies are further upstream.
:blobcat_thinksmart:
#Effluenza
Effluent update.
This 💩 needs it's own hashtag
:blobcat_giggle:
The lovely plumber decided he needed a Bigger Truck and called for reinforcements.
Today, I am thankful (said in your worst Influencer Voice) that I am *only* the recipient of everybody else's effluent and not the source. The poor bloke two doors up is having his garden dug up.
I'm just looking at my shed and compost bins thinking :blobcat_yikes:
