#Introduction
I am a postdoctoral researcher at UoN and my research utilises functional and comparative #genomics in conjunction with molecular biology and #biochemistry to study (1) drug resistance mechanisms in #AMR #pathogens, and (2) catabolism pathways of #microbes that degrade recalcitrant #pollutants. I also have a specific interest in bacterial membrane proteins, particularly efflux pumps. I’m interested in the discovery/ characterisation of novel families of efflux pumps, their evolution and ‘repurposing’ some transporters for industrial applications.
