Some pics from yesterday of one of @danielstroud ‘s churches, St. John the Evangelist, Rhydymwyn. It was built in the mid 19th century. Felix Mendelsohn composed ‘The Rivulet’ while staying in the village.

Gaudete Sunday! From the first word of the introit (introduction) in the service, gaudete is Latin for ‘rejoice’. The 3rd Sunday marks a reprieve from the penitential aspect of the Advent season, so we light the pink candle on the Advent wreath.

Here are some closeups of the angels in Holy Trinity.

The Welsh text above it reads, “Canys fy nghnawd i sydd fwyd yn wir…a’m gwaed i sydd ddiod yn wir” which translates to “My flesh is food indeed and my blood is drink indeed” (John 6:55).
