No X fans?... On mastodon? But you guys love space so much. #spacetrucking finance simulators. Think #Eve offline.
The meta game for mods and the most fun is X3 Albion Pelude. X4 is great too just make sure you've got a decent system. It literally simulates every ship in its universe. X3 simulates resources and the market on every station and simply spawns in ships when needed for the AI to trade. Still, playing it, you can't tell unless you intend to follow any one Freightor around for three hours that isn't connected to a mission.

X4's Kingdom End expansion is still amazing. Having helped reconnect the Boron to the rest of "The Network" I was later rewarded me this *lovely* Corvette-class beauty, the "Hydra Royal", which I have re-named "Fugu: Tasty Fish".
Below you can see a selection of screenshots from the game showing off those gorgeous curvaceous Boron designs. This update's new Rendering Tech, featuring new lighting and Physics, makes the shiny *even shinier*.

This launched yesterday and so far it's been utterly delightful. The long (*LONG*) awaited return of the aquatic Boron race to the series is also x-panding the internal lore in fascinating and compelling directions. This, in a six year old game.
I'll post some non-spoilery screenshots soon, showing off the gorgeous new designs and systems.

Vor ein paar Monaten war ich für einen Moment schlaftrunken genug, um mir in einem unbeobachteten Moment ein limitiertes Stofftier zu sichern. Einen Baby Boronen aus dem #X-Universum von #Egosoft. Sollte ungefähr zeitgleich mit dem Boronen Add-on für #x4foundations hier ankommen. Und wenn ich schon keine Zeit zu spielen habe, vielleicht finde ich wenigstens Zeit zu knuddeln.

It's a deep space #simulation that let's you play #grandstrategy *and* first/third-person adventure to whatever degrees you like, switching seamlessly or blending them together to suit your playstyle.
I've been playing them from the first release in 1999 and they've never disappointed.
Do yourself a favor!
