At the St Augustine Alligator Farm and #Zoological #Park is host to many #waterfowl species during nesting season, because the #birds are attracted to the protection against predators created by the alligators.
The alligators rarely bother the birds, either, as this Snowy #Egret in the same water as the gators, demonstrates the point.

A #SnowyEgret (#EgrettaThula) coming in to land in the #marsh of #MINWR /Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. The Snowy #Egret is a type of #heron (not the #photographer, but this is Heron’s shot). It’s native to the #Americas, including #Florida, and is a common sight on the #SpaceCoast.
It feeds mostly on fish and small crustaceans. They can look incredibly #elegant sometimes.
