That event was super fun—and small, so plenty of time to chat.

Ryan came down with Covid so he wasn’t there, but Tim noticed I’d brought an #EightBillionGenies issue with me. He asked for the board behind it and drew his rendition of a genie.

I’ve been saving the last issue of Charles Soule and Ryan Browne’s Eight Billion Genies for a week now. I finally read it tonight because Ryan is doing a pop up signing on 4/20 in #Chicago.

The image is the penultimate page—spoilers—while it’s message might seem pedestrian it hit me in a really profound way.

These simple words carry so much weight because of the beginning of the story. They’re need up by the varying depictions of this in all issues that bring you to this incredible last issue itself. (And, I’d wager for me at least, some life experiences as of late add to the heaviness).

Succinctly, I cried.

Not able to make it to #C2E2 this year—BUMMER—but I did get to snag copies of the Eight Billion Genies art book and directors commentary (signed!) from Ryan and Chris.

Looks like the directors commentary is already sold out, get the art book while you can!

If you haven't read this, definitely get on it—fantastic story of what happens to the world if every person is granted 1 wish. Amazon has picked it up for a show/film (unsure).

Their other work together like Curse Words and other discrete stuff like God Hates Astronauts and Undiscovered Country are absolutely phenomenal too.
