If you are planning on travelling to #EJC2023 by train, be aware that Station Warszawa Zachodnia is under construction. Many trains are routed through Warszawa Gdańska. Some trains to Lublin are starting at Warszawa Wschodnia. https://www.intercity.pl/pl/wwk/ has a lot of current information, but only in Polish.
https://portalpasazera.pl/en allows to search train connections. It also shows current delays.
If you need alternative ways of going from Warszawa Zachodnia to Warszawa Wschodnia see next post!
#EJC2023 IS ON!
We are going to… #LUBLIN!
We are extremely happy to inform you that European Juggling Convention will be coming for the third time to the beautiful city of Lublin (Poland). The dates stay as planned: 29.07-06.08, and the pre-reg is starting very soon! Fundacja Sztukmistrze (same team behind EJC 2012 and 2017) have secured the same venue as the previous conventions within a beautiful park, with large halls (combined 11 000 m2!) and an awesome gala venue.
Please keep the dates for the EJC free if you can. There are some vaguely possible solutions elsewhere in Europe. While the potential dates might change, but we're trying as best as we can for them to stay the same.
We will continue updating with all our information as soon as we can.
We will also be joining in lobbying the Irish government to resolve this insurance crisis to enable the EJC to eventually return to Ireland.

Hello Jugglers and Circus Family!
We have an update for #EJC2023. After many difficulties securing a site for the Convention, we are delighted to say we are now in final negotiations with a venue. We are working on this process at full speed, and hope to have a final decision and contract by the end of March.
The final decision on the site will be made very soon. The team are fully dedicated and strong and are fully confident of hosting the #EJC this summer. Our dates remain 29 July - 6 Aug 2023
Todays video by the IJA "Juggling News January 2023" mentions that we have lost our previous venue but also uses a "Cancelled" graphic.
The #EJC2023 Team would like to clarify that as things stand this years #EJC is not cancelled, we are in the final stages working with our new venue and getting all the paper work sorted before we make any more official announcements, but we will have more information to share very soon.
We have a site visit over the weekend, so hopefully we will have good news to announce shortly about #EJC2023
Today 24/01 we received bad news. We cannot host #EJC2023 in Gormanston Park.
The convention is not cancelled. However, we would urge people to stop booking flights and making travel plans.
We are currently working on alternative plans and venues. IF YOU HAVE A VENUE, FIELD, HALL, that could work for any kind of convention at all, now is the time to come forward. The EJC Core Team has decided to continue working until the 28/02 and make a final decision with the EJA

The good news is that we have now figured out two different ways on making this map accessible.
One involves making black lines on paper tactile, another is as a 3d printout (creating an stl file).
We are putting a lot of thought into making our site and #EJC2023 as accessible as possible.
What do you think of our basic line map for #EJC2023?
Details will be added in and we have already created versions up to 2400 dpi.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to turn line maps into something tactile using #3Dprinting (or another easy solution) to make a more #accessible #map for those with sight impairments to use when they get onsite to the #EuropeanJugglingConvention?
Data mainly sourced from #OpenStreetMap

A little video of our #EJC2023 site visit to #Gormanston last Friday.
For those of you who remember EJC 2014 (or 2006), the hall is almost as big as the main hall there, but it won't be also hosting a stage and associated seats.
It has a lovely wooden floor, so we will be asking for no outdoor shoes worn in the hall (socks, barefoot or indoor shoes please) with no glass in the hall to protect those toes.
If arriving into Dublin and making your way to site by public transport - let us recommend the 101 Bus Éireann bus.
It departs from the main bus station (Busáras) near Connolly train station, stops at Dublin airport and also stops in Gormanston.
Ask for the Huntsman Inn stop (although there isn't any building with "Huntsman Inn" on it, as it is another name for Gibney's of #Gormanston)

Generally things to remember - in #Ireland we use a 3 pin safety plug (often labelled as a UK plug).
Make sure that you bring either appropriate plugs, or an adaptor!
Tom Scott explains in the linked video why these plugs are the best - although please don't step on them!

#IrelandTravelTips for those leaving through Dublin airport (T1 at least) on their way home from the #EJC2023.
Give yourself plenty of time to get to the boarding gate - some can be a 15 minutes walk after security!
When you get through security there are 500ml bottles of water - using an honesty system of 1€ per bottle.
There is also a tap for refilling empty bottles if you prefer.
These are spread throughout the terminal (generally with water refill points near to where you can grab a water)
We did a tour of the #EJC2023 site, here's the link to the Instagram live we did!

We are preparing for another #EJC2023 site visit early in the new year.
What questions do you have for the team?
What would you like to see photos of?
Any questions about the site?
Have you any questions that *you* think we should ask from the site at #Gormanston - especially useful if you have previously helped to run an #EJC or other large #JugglingConvention or #Circus #Festival.
