As deserved as it is, it was sad to find out that Eleanor Wachtel, the best and most knowledgeable interviewer of writers out there was retiring after thirty-three years as host of the CBC's Writers & Co. as the final program aired in June. But it's wonderful to learn that she will be chair of next year's judging panel for the International Booker Prize, a great choice.
