@samhainnight @HankPym I suspect this flies under the radar for a lot of us. I know the staff at my local library branch but never gave any thought to the board. It's an appointed board (as I think most are). I live in an area controlled by Democrats so I'm not concerned that my local board will go rogue and start censoring. Another reason why having a Democratic mayor, county executive, county council, board of commissioners, whatever form of local government you have, matters. #ElectDemocrats

I hope Iowa's action leads to a blue wave in Iowa, just as recent blue waves were accomplished in Michigan and Minnesota (which have become much better states since democratic majorities have taken control of all branches of state government).
