The case #JackSmith prosecuted, which was tried in 2002, stemmed from an incident that roiled the city & threatened the re-election of the city’s mayor, Rudolph#Giuliani, who later became #Trump’s personal lawyer.

Smith later married his experience w/gritty street crimes w/working on public #corruption cases involving #crimes committed by crooked #ElectedOfficials, including some prominent Democrats. Later, he prosecuted #WarCrime cases at The Hague.

Police in #Albuquerque, #NewMexico, are investigating a recent spate of shootings that appear to be targeting the homes and offices of local #ElectedOfficials.

Gun shots were reported near the office of NM state Sen Antonio "Moe" Maestas (D) on Thursday morning, in the most recent of four shootings involving elected officials, according to the Albuquerque Police Department.
No one was injured in the shooting, or any of the previous #shootings, according to police.

#Trump claims to love #America and hugs flags but wants to “terminate” the most essential, foundational and governing document of the country: the #Constitution . There is no #USA without the Constitution. Moreover, even though all #electedofficials must swear an oath to protect the Constitution, the #GOP will still allow Trump to run as a #Republican candidate because they don’t care about #democracy or other principles, only power.
