With 1,086 of 1,291 Chicago precincts reporting, 84.12%, I am calling the runoff as Paul Vallas vs Brandon Johnson. Lori Lightfoot is defeated, she is behind 18,000 votes and cannot make that up. #electiontwitter #chimayor23

It's "I voted sticker" student contest season! Who else is seeking design submissions now across #electiontwitter for use in 2023-2024 elections? https://twitter.com/ArapahoeClerk/status/1626643583162896384

There is a new national push for legal ballot harvesting… by the same people that convinced many that dropping off more than one ballot is a severe act of treason.
Not stating an opinion, just facts.
In 1964 LBJ defeated Barry Goldwater in Nevada by double digits. This would be the last time a Democrat would carry Nevada at the Presidential Level until 1992.

Does anyone here have Wikipedia edit credentials?
Is there a way to get the creator of #ElectionTwitter (@electionbabe there) into Wikipedia as it's origin point?
Hey y’all, I post maps of different elections, talk politics, science, and a million other things, and I’m posting my way through Stage 3 cancer. Member of #ElectionTwitter.
For #FollowFriday I'm again looking for the #ElectionTwitter (#ElectionMastodon? #ElectionFedi?) crowd. Do you make scatterplots of demographic shifts? Are you known for crafting histograms on public opinion? Do you crank out obscure maps of long forgotten Senate races? Are you meticulously sharing voter registration data? I want to follow you!
#followfriday #electiontwitter #electionmastodon #electionfedi
Oh yes and #electiontwitter #election folks. How could I forget you? Some of you make S-tier shitposts and yet even better analysis
Hi Mastodon people. Newbie here. I was relatively active on #electiontwitter on that other place and hope we are able to build a similar community here.
It's been a few weeks, so re-upping this request for help finding people: Who from #ElectionTwitter is here? (#ElectionMastodon?) Who is posting early #vote data in Georgia? Where are the teens making #maps of the 1976 presidential #election broken down by country-wide median household income? Who is posting multi-dimensional scatterplots of opinion research? If that's you I want to follow you!
🙏 boosts appreciated!

A few years ago I was semi-active in the #election map community on Twitter. Most of those folks (#ElectionTwitter) build them out in #QGIS and occasionally you see map #dataviz with #rstats, but I like to tackle these tasks with #python, #pandas, and #matplotlib. So I wrote up a brief tutorial¹ using 2018 New Mexico results from OpenElections.² #projects

Should we start an #ElectionMastodon hashtag to honor @electionbabe and her legacy of #ElectionTwitter?

This piece below is from @electionbabe 's pinned twitter post. She created the hash tag in 2016, she went on to create Magical Ballot Fairies in September of 2018 presented in https://ordinary-times.com/2018/09/24/ballad-of-the-magical-ballot-fairies/ Two terms that are now in the American Lexicon.
#ElectionTwitter was not created by an academic, political operative, or cartographer. It was created by a pollworker/stay at home mom. Don’t ever think that you aren’t good enough to start something that matters.
