Day 5: Personal Change in Games Past Year

I've been getting better with improvising responses to how players solve things, especially when I run more rules lite things like #Cairn or #ElectricBastionland that leave a lot more freedom for players to surprise you.

I helped playtest this, and some of my favorite Electric Bastionland / Into the Odd characters of all time from our group were included in the draft sent for editing. IDK if they survived the editing process.

This adventure goes extremely hard and was full of amazing WTF moments. #Intotheodd #ElectricBastionland

Ich habe hier schon geschrieben, wie gut "Segler auf sternenloser See" von Harley Stroh als Oneshot ist. Gilt auch sonst.

"The Iron Coral" von Chris McDowall im Regelwerk von #IntoTheOdd ist sehr spannend und trotz weniger Worte voller stimmungsvoll. Auch: Superweird.

Ich mag "The Stygian Library" von Emmy Allen sehr, habe es aber nie gespielt. Das könnte man aber gut mit #SwordsAndWizardry oder #ElectricBastionland tun.

Ich werde zum Kanaljubiläum einen One-Shot #ElectricBastionland aufnehmen als Actual Play. Es steht fest das der Dungeon ein Opernhaus in Bastion ist, alles andere wird frei von mir improvisiert. So die Gruppe aus einem Sternseligen, Riesen, Alien und Augementierten habe sich erfolgreich durch das weirde Finanzamt der Possen durchgeschlagen, Gardarobenzettel gefälscht, goldene und silberne Hüte mitgenommen, eine goldene Thunfischdose einem Oktopus im Aquarium gegeben und den melodramatischen Possen von einem Fischotterbürokraten mit Kampf gegen Tacker und Linie besiegt um dann aus dem Laserraum den goldenen Helm des Ordens geholt. #ElectricBastionland #pnpde

Ich habe dieses Jahr physikalisch zuerst das fabelhafte #Hyperborea 3Rd Edition gekauft, ein "Weird Science Fantasy" Clone von AD&D1 und... Zeugs von Jeffrey Talanian.

E-Books zählen bei mir - rein emotional - immer noch nicht so richtig, eigentlich ist mein erster Rollenspielkauf 2023 #ElectricBastionland von Chris McDowall bei (dt. Version bei @systemmatters ) gewesen, ein #IntotheOdd Abkömmling voller hinreißender Ideen.

Bin mal gespannt ob es mir gelingt auf der #Sternenschnuppe23 eine P&P RPG Runde #ElectricBastionland zu leiten. Die Welt ist so wundervoll skuril. Das System recht einfach. Grundsätzlich sind das schon mal zwei Kritterien die ein Spiel interessant für mich machen. #pnpde

At conventions, I'm keen to have people consider it and flick through the books. Like the disparity of #DungeonCrawlClassics core rules — "It's mainly spells." — EB can be a weird experience to the first-time reader — "It's mainly failed careers."

I’m enjoying the heck out of the failed careers in #ElectricBastionland. #TTRPG.
