Interesting - Aurora on the Iberian mechanism.
The mechanism caps wholesale market prices for fossil power plants, and recovers cost of cap on electricity consumers.
It does suppress electricity prices for ES and PT consumers, compared to DE/FR. But fossil gas use has increased significantly, adding to international LNG demand.

On 1st Jan my day time cost per kWh goes up to 49p from 45p but night time rate falls from 8p to 7p.
Going to have to crank the heating up even more (it's all at the night rate - storage heating)
